I’m in the US and the recipes in this app have opened me up to a whole new world of interesting techniques, especially lighter cakes and frostings/fillings that don’t rely on butter or oil. It’s been well worth the money for me. That said, the organization could be improved. The notes and troubleshooting tips are helpful, but often wordy, repetitive and not consistently placed recipe to recipe. Ingredient amounts are also unnecessarily repeated in the instructions. For me this makes recipes feel more complex than they are and makes them harder to follow. I often end up recreating my favorite recipes in my Paprika app just to simplify. Great content but it would really benefit from a more standard recipe structure and some editing.

I got this app because I only wanted one recipe. But I’ve used a handful now and keep finding new ones that I love. She really knows what she’s doing and she’s taking all the guest work out for you!
I was hesitant to purchase the app wondering if it was worth the price. I was following Manuela through YouTube and Instagram for quite a while and was always mesmerized by her videos. I decided to treat myself one day and OH BOY it’s worth double the price! So many amazing recipes (I hadn’t tried them all, but the ones I’ve made turned out perfectly) and exact instructions with pictures. No guesswork…amazing results! Don’t sleep on this app if you like to bake and are tired of failed recipes.
After having seen Manuela’s cakes on social media and YouTube I knew I needed these recipes. My family does not care for heavy cakes, with the exception of carrot cake. Manuela’s recipes are beautifully light and incorporate the best ingredients including fresh fruits and high quality creams, etc. The app has detailed instructions including tips. The baking temp did vary slightly for me vs the recipes however that can happen with any recipe depending on your stove or region (altitude, coast vs inland). My family loves the tender Vanilla Cake with Strawberry whip and also the Lemon Blueberry Cake is divine! It literally melts in your mouth. If you make it be sure to buy the frozen wild blueberries. The taste is wonderful and so different than a standard blueberry.
Visually beautiful and wonderful and different recipes. Perfect for any skill level as there is a ton of explanation and step by step instructions. Truly beautiful work!
I am an accomplished and avid baker/cake decorator. I am always looking for new recipes to try. After trying some of Manuela‘s cake recipes I found them to be lower in both taste and texture than some tried and true recipes that are free on the Internet. Ingredients being used in the cake recipes are expensive and some are hard to find. On the whole I found this app a complete waste of money because you can find much better recipes free on the Internet with the same tutorials and less costly ingredients. Don’t waste money here.
Garnache recipes require 40% heavy cream. That is unavailable where I live and there is no alternative.
This is a great app and you get insights into all Manuela’s tried and true secrets. If you are an American, get a scale that uses grams. Mine used oz and while I’ve always liked the accuracy of weighing more than other measurements, I had to convert to use my scale here. Most of the world uses grams, so not a problem, just be aware. The only hard thing about the recipes is that they require ingredients you most likely do not have on hand like couverture white chocolate, coconut powder and potato starch. Still happy I got the app
I have had the Love, Manuela app for several months and I love it. I just purchased the 336 page Ganache Made Simple and cannot wait to try these new recipes. I got so excited to try new things, I ordered buckthorn berries through a wild ingredient website and found them to be very different and loved the tartness of them. Although, I do wish I had access to 40% fat cream, 36% is as high as I can find (if it’s even listed on the carton) as I live in the US, so, that’s what I use. But because of the lower fat content, ganaches aren’t as stable as I would like for my macarons, as it tends to be a bit more wet than I’d like, but they work great for cakes and cupcakes. Also, I love that the recipes are all in weight measurements, making it super easy to get the right amounts, every time. Thank you Manuela!
