corporate greed is killing us

Edit: A glitch has appeared where articles jump to bottom when scrolling, making reading very annoying. There's no easy way to report the bug so downgrading to 1* review until fixed. On News+ I like the cross section of full magazines, and the newspaper articles are generally a good cross section. But it is extremely unclear what you get from The Times and searching e.g. for specific columnists is basically impossible. It’s also hard to focus on the most recent news. Links open in external (additional cost) websites when the article is already available on News+ but you have to manually search for it. The recommendations are atrocious; the algorithm needs to be fired. I have never had the slightest interest in Meghan Markle or fashion. And why is there no article download option on iPhone?

The app has developed an annoying glitch where the page jumps, after traversing adverts when reading articles or browsing story headlines. Not sure why it is covered in ads when I pay a subscription. Media feeds are predominantly right wing, The Sun, Telegraph, i, Daily Mail, Times, Sky, GBNews and BBC. Other better apps for news but great for magazines. If only it didn’t glitch.

So quick, simple and easy to use. Also I love that there is no advert pop ups on the videos 😀😀😀😀👍🏼

Love the simplicity of app and ability to preview stories with long-tap. However, quite annoying the number of adverts in a single story and the numerous stories behind paywall even though they may be free to read on the publisher’s website.

Every article is full of irrelevant adverts, and they're repeated multiple times, so not only do you see some nonsense about retirement or a new amazing skin light therapy, you get to see the same thing EIGHT times in ONE article! Joyous. You get this even if you're a News+ subscriber, so you're paying Apple for that plus they want extra money from ads. Lots of AI-generated articles, too, so not worth reading. Also, no option to stop the feed from refreshing. If you load the app and see an article you'd like to read, the feed will likely refresh before you have a chance to tap on it. This should be a pull to refresh, or there should be an actual button. Overall, a depressing app from Apple. Not up to the standards you'd expect, especially for paying subscribers.

Apple News, it’s great, just frustrating that it is a continual selling attempt. How much more money do you have to make?

Apples news is great combining news from multiple sources but you cannot search for stories effectively writhing newspapers..why?
