This app is repetitive and you will be better off saving soundscapes from Spotify. Interface is basic and clunky.
Am so sick of this App constantly pushing for lifetime upgrade purchase. I am a relatively new user and have already signed up for a year. Whether it is “Year of The Horse”, “Wellbeing Month”, “Get a Free Tote Bag”, or *insert another BS promotion excuse here*, I am just bombarded with notifications and banners to “upgrade”for life. Stop it. Be happy with my commitment for a year. Leave me alone. Or I will cancel and ask for refund.
I’ve had to click through half a dozen onboarding screens, paying for premium, getting notifications, finding out what’s new and been asked to write a review before I can even get into the app. For an app about beating distractions, it sure does try to distract you. Clearly not what I need.
Been using Endel for a very, very long time. I really liked the UI design on the mac. The timer was nicely sized and sits comfortably at the top right of the screen (as a small floating window that you can summon using the menu bar icon). The way to set the timer was also very smooth - it’s divided into 5-min intervals that you can drag through, which, although sacrificed precision, drastically improved its simplicity and hence usability. I was using Endel for any sort of timed work. I also really liked the fact that the alarm sound was a smooth crescendo chord that signals that the timer was about to finish (as opposed to traditional timers where the sound is jarring and interrupts workflow). I loved the app. However, the new major update completely destroyed everything. The window is now horizontal, chunky, and unadjustable. It also can’t be summoned by clicking the menu bar icon. It takes up too much space on the screen which defeats the purpose. The new UI for setting a timer is also difficult to use (requires multiple clicks and as a pop-up window. These things really reduced its smoothness and usability. On top of all this, the timer function is now a premium feature. Sorry if the feedback is harsh. I just really liked the old Endel. I wish there are some options to revert to the app’s previous functionality and design. I wouldn’t mind paying premium price for that.
It used to play in multichannel and produced a great spatial effect. It’s been broken for years…
This app is not worth $99.99 getting ripped out of your account! I’ve only used endel for the free month membership and I deleted shortly after downloading (this was a few months ago) I was surely shocked after realizing $100 had been taken from my account and emailed endel as soon as possible which I have had no response.
While Endel Premium has all features unlocked and endless sessions, the free version is extremely limited, with barely any features and soundscapes available to it. No features and less soundscapes is tolerable, as it is a free version. But what really sets me off is the fact that sessions are limited to only 10 minutes, even Sleep sessions. This means if I can’t fall asleep within ten minutes, I have to open my iPad and restart the session again. This actually contradicts the app’s purpose because it makes me more stressed and I feel rushed to fall asleep faster. Even making Sleep sessions longer to 20 minutes would be much less stressful and I might consider using this app again.
I have been using the app for almost a year now and I am so impressed with it. I use the sleep mode to get to sleep, the focus/ study/ deeper focus modes at work when I REALLY want to get stuff over the line. The deeper focus mode is particularly effective, getting you into a rhythm. I often listen to the nature elements or simple relax settings when on aeroplanes or when walking through large crowded areas to maintain composure too. I strongly recommend this app to shut out life’s busy background noises. I need to delve into some of the other modes, but unsure of times when to use them.
I accidentally purchased a year of this when my free trial ran out. Although initially annoyed, I thought I’d make the best of it and try it out properly. Works out that I can really focus on tasks better with it on. So now seems like it was a happy accident.
Helps me sleep, easy to use. Never been able to fall asleep quickly, this app completely changed it 100% worth it.
