I'm not able to use the app for longer than 30 seconds ago a time because it keeps crashing. I've trouble shooted it so clearly it's an app issue. It's very frustrating especially as I'm paying for use.
The Readwise Highlight & Tag Integration Broken and has been for over 1 year. There seems to be no energy to fix this feature. The subscription isn’t cheap so it’s very disappointing that this hasn’t been addressed.
Provides a fantastic reading environment with really premium features - manual sorting of queue (you dont see this is very often in competing apps), probably the best voices on the market and AI features that genuinely add something rather than just being tacked on e.g. the content suggestion features are useful, and you can summarise articles, ask questions etc. you can highlight a paragraph with a tap, and export to markdowns and other formats. It’s not cheap but it has a really premium feel and feature set.
This app is really good, but I feel like if there was an option to search what you want to read. It would be better because then people can actually read what they want to read.
App nags you with full page subscription sheet every time it’s opened. Kinda desperate
Seven days in and now absolutely everything is behind a paywall. I can’t even read my own email that I have added to the app. This is disappointing. Looks like a functional app. I don’t need all the additional content you were throwing at me. Just a place to read my newsletters. C’est la vie. Now I will uninstall and try a different app.
Paid for the service and didn’t get any premium features. There’s no customer service support so there’s nothing I can do.
I really like the idea and I use the text to read, highlighting etc and transcribing. The issue is there are too many bugs with transcribing. I use the 3 daily transcribing option often (why is it restricted to 3?!), daily. I save a YouTube and want to transcribe it so I can read, watch and highlight at the same time, but often it won’t work - it will just hang on the “Generating transcript” but it never will and there is no reset option for that link that I know of to try again so that link it dead in the app in terms of transcribing. When I try to report it the keyboard doesn’t come up in the app so you cant type anything and the app hangs. Anyway, I’ve reported it a few times via browser and it never gets better - it’s been months. It’s a key feature of Matter for me. I’m a yearly subscriber and I leaning towards not renewing.
with all my newsletters now flowing into Matter either through the Gmail integration or the forwarding rule, I have them in a centralised place where I can actually now pick out the ones I’m interested in listening to and add them to my queue. I’m also loving adding articles to my queue directly from my share menu browser to be specific to my current interests. Most importantly text to speech has been a game changer for allowing me to listen to them while doing chores, commute and working out! hi, I’ve tried the competitors and this one works the best.
I was looking for a way to read transcripts of podcasts and YouTube videos and came across Matter. It does this very well - transcripts are accurate and nicely formatted, and I like that I can save highlights from them. It’s also handy being able to save them in one place alongside other materials I want to come back to.
